Fresh Basil Pesto Recipe

This is a fresh basil pesto recipe that boasts an addictive garlic flavor. It goes with any type of pasta, but my favorite way to eat it is with roasted zucchini and tomato pasta. You can use the recipe for meatballs or to dip bread in.

This is a gluten-free recipe, but you can add bread crumbs if you're using it for meatballs.

The best thing about this recipe is that you can use what's on hand. If you don't have fresh basil, try using parsley, cilantro, or arugula instead. You can also add capers or pine nuts instead of sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. For a twist on the traditional pesto, replace the pine nuts with chopped macadamia nuts.

Good food doesn't have to be complicated, especially with fresh basil pesto recipes. This recipe is a great example of how easy it can be to whip up your own pesto. Of course, fresh herbs are always best, but you can also purchase frozen and use them in this recipe.

I genuinely love this homemade pesto. It's delicious when I do pasta for dinner and add this special homemade fresh sauce. It gives an extra flavor.

I love to have basil at home, fresh one, of course, I use many times in the recipes that I do at home. It has a particular flavor that gives an extra to any dish, and that's why I created this recipe today because it's so easy to add to any dish.

Has you could read before, I gave some options to do pesto, but today I will share with you one that's so easy, and the best thing is you know all the ingredients inside the sauce.

So let's start!

First, you insert in a blender the basil and walnuts. Blend them. Scrape down the sides of the food processor with a rubber spatula.

After, add the cheese and the garlic and blend again.

Next, add olive oil, but not in once, slowly, because you need to give time for everything to absorb the olive oil.

So, every time you add olive oil, blend 2 or 3 times and add it again.

Don't forget to scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula. And it's done! One tip that I share in the video is to cover the pyrex with thin plastic to conserve it better in the fridge. So, you can use in many recipes that you will do throughout the week.

Has I said a few times that I'm a lemon juice lover, and if you are too, you can add lemon juice to this simple, homemade fresh pesto. But this time, I didn't add lemon juice.
