Apple with Peanut Butter

We all know that eating a healthy, balanced diet is essential for maintaining a healthy weight. But sometimes, it's challenging to figure out what the best snacks are to eat between meals.

As a Mother, I love to teach my kids to eat healthily, and when we talk about snacks, I like to prepare healthy ones.

I will love to share with you along this journey my recipes, healthy snack ideas that you can enjoy throughout the day, including apples with peanut butter and cinnamon, dried apricots with feta and pumpkin seeds, or hummus with whole wheat crackers.

I love Healthy snacks because they are simple and too quick to make, and most important, they are healthy.

I hope you enjoy these simple, healthy recipes!

Apples with peanut butter

This is one of my favorite snack combinations. Who doesn't love apples? Packed with fiber and antioxidants, apples will keep you full for hours! The addition of peanut butter to the mix will make your taste buds dance for joy. When paired with warm cinnamon, it makes a perfect combination of flavor and texture that's sure to keep your mouth watering all day long.

In this recipe, I didn't put cinnamon, but you can. It stays delicious too.

The Benefits of Peanut Butter

Contains a good amount of protein, fiber, and healthy fats. In addition, it's high in potassium which helps with blood sugar management, which can cause weight loss. However, peanut butter is not an effective weight loss supplement because it has too many calories for its micronutrients to cancel out. It's also packed with antioxidants and plant sterols that are anti-inflammatory and help prevent heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and certain autoimmune diseases.

A thick spread of peanut butter on a whole wheat tortilla or apple slices makes a great snack that leaves you feeling fuller longer, reduces cravings for harmful foods, and can regulate your blood sugar in time to avoid a binge.

You may be surprised to know that it loses all of its health benefits when peanut butter is cooked. It no longer has healthy fats, antioxidants, and vitamin E. The protein also becomes less digestible.
